How many fans other than Auntie Janet would turn up on a day like this, hang around until the bitter end and still file a match report when she got home? Love it, hate it but you simply cannot ignore it. Here is Auntie Janet's Day 3 match report from Uxbridge and many, many thanks to her for it.
"Watching the grass grow" I knew what the weather forecast was before I left home, but I am the eternal optimist. There definitely was rain in the air as I left home, but by the time the tube got to Baker St there was bright sunshine. It was drizzling when I got to Uxbridge, and I found the Billy and Dawid had caught the same tube and were asking when the bus would come. They ended up getting a taxi while I waited for the bus with some mates. It drizzled on and off all morning. An optimistic announcement said that play would begin at 1.00pm if there was no more rain. Unfortunately there was so the match was called off at 1.00pm I stayed in the pavilion until the rain lessened and then I went home. By the time I got the tube it was bright and sunny, and the sunshine remained until I got home. I thought I’d watch the tennis, but fell asleep for an hour or so. There was a ‘funny’ at Eastcote station: There was a notice to drivers at the station which said: ‘please allow time for old people alighting at this stop’. It made me wonder if there was a special enclave for pensioners there.

LUL have had complaints from the older residents of that area that they were not being given the time to get off before the train pulls away. As a lot of the elders of Eastcote are exBoard members and shareholders in various LT companies they thought the sign a good idea to remind their current employees who they were dealing with at Eastcote , the all powerfull grey lobby with time on their hands to write to the Mayor's office and , Transport for London, LUL, their MP ,the national press,the local paper and anyone else they could think of .
They could have on the otherhand saved time on the writing and just made their way to the doors a little bit earlier thus negating the need for the train to stand for so long.

So why wouldn't Billy and Dawid let you in the back of the taxi with them Janet?
Surely you could not have done their eardrums that much damage from the station to the ground,or were they just being on the safe side?
I only saw you and The General get on my bus Janet,had all your other 'mates'deserted you too?

CBG,I was there,you wern't.My question is reasonable if Janet was waiting for a bus whilst two players got in a taxi,why did she not join them or did she decline on religous grounds?
And she got on the same bus as I did,with only one other person whom she describes as a 'mate',he may disagree.
I,m pretty sure she's not reffering to me as another one.
So mystery and misinformation as usual,and we all know a liar needs a good memory.
She is perfectly capable of coming on here and explaining herself.
The fact she does not tells me all I need to know.
I'll continue to take issue with her as long as she continues to mislead the posters on this board.
Best not to involve yourself in things you know nothing about comeback.

It's not an excuse Ged,just a clarification.
My initial response to Janet was merely the usual light-hearted banter.
CBG chose to make a facetious remark about it,and I enlightened him as to the actual facts of the matter which I witnessed personally.
I,ve questioned his suitability as a moderator many times before,this is yet a further example of him attempting to stir up a situation unnessesarily,and you have nothing to say him but choose to hit on me as usual.
Perhaps spend a little more time assessing where the fault lies in future Ged before jumping to conclusions.

Oh dear I've a naughty boy again it seems. Whether I was there or not has of course nothing to do with it. I was merely pointing out that you do seem to have a "dig" whenever Janet posts. If you wish me to stand down as moderater because I disagree with you sometimes, I'll go!
