Middlesex Till We Die will be running photo caption competitions over the winter 2010/2011. Here are the results of the first competition - September 2010.

Murtagh and Kev

We've had a terrific response to this competition.  Well done to everyone who submitted a caption.  You can see all the entries through the story link at the bottom of this piece.

Honourable mentions go to:

Man in garden chair to his mate: "Whose that with Barmy Kev?" by Diamond

Murts: "Is it true you won the Imran Tahir lookalike competition?" Kev: "yes. Imran came third." by Haringey Racer

Murts: "I've got a good gig in panto at Xmas playing Captain Hook" - BK: "Lucky you, I have just had a knockback at the Ugly Sisters auditions" by Beeamazed

..."THEY MIGHT BE ZIANTS!!" by Darren Gosling

BUT THE WINNER IS:

"A man who has delivered lots of balls for Middlesex in 2010 - also pictured is Tim Murtagh" by Dingy Bags

So, big ups to Dingy Bags - let's see if we can get the Royal Mail to deliver a miniscule prize to you this time.

And to everyone else, commiserations but also congratulations.

There'll be another caption competition very soon.

Well done to dingy bags.

I would have entered this competition, but I don't have a sense of humour.

I'll be signing autographs at a branch of Waterstone's near you sometime between now and Christmas - but only if I actually receive my prize.

If/when you confirm your address details with me I'll despatch, as per my e-mail yesterday.

I am now the proud recipient of TWO prizes.

However, the envelope had been opened and the prizes left undisturbed.

There's a lesson there somewhere...perhaps my postie supports the other lot from over the river.

One of those two was an exact replacement for your missing prize from 2007, Dingy Bags.

There was only ever going to be one loser in the end from that Royal Mail fiasco - me!

Well done, once again.
