It's mid November so that must mean time for another caption competition. Witty, informative, surreal or just plain silly, it's all abit of fun. But there is a miniscule prize up for grabs too. Read on.....
It's time for the November photo caption competition.
All you have to do is come up with a witty, informative, surrealistic or just plain silly caption for the following photo.

Suggestions so far include:
Pedro: "Which other players did you say that you act as agent for, Beefy?".
Despite his persuasive argument, Beefy Roberts failed to convince Pedro that Beefy is Andy Robert's son.
Beefy: "It's simple, remember, fourth ball, third over - wide. Sixth ball, fifth over - no-ball."
There's not much in the way of rules for this competition. You can enter as many times as you like, either by e-mailing mtwdadmin@googlemail.com -or by posting your thoughts on this competition's thread. The competition will close at 23:59 on 30 November 2010.
The judges decision on the competition winner will be final and the prize will be of the traditional MTWD miniscule variety.
Simples.
Have fun and good luck!

Sadly, I have no jokes in my repertoire about Beefy or Pedro Collins, so please don't expect anything funny on this thread from me.

Ped: "I have no sympathy for him. Some of the things he writes on MTWD are disgusting and he hasn't got a sense of humour. I'm glad to get away from a club supported by Jonathan".
Well, I've tried to say something funny, so my effort cannot be faulted.
Those who are fans of Pedro Collins will be delighted to know that on Tuesday he said that he hopes to play for West Indies again, so he may return to a TV screen near you soon, and you never know, maybe he could play when West Indies next tour England, which according to the ECB's website will be in 2012.

I am genuinely ashamed that the subject of John Simpson makes up 100% of the funny things that I believe myself to be able to say, and I am hoping to drive that figure down by learning jokes on other subjects. I guess that I need to watch comedy on TV, which is something I currently seldom do.
Some people have said that when I try to be funny, I am not, but when I don't try to be funny, I am.
I really want to say something funny on this thread, but I can't see it ever happening, although I don't want to give up as that would show a bad attitude, even if I know that my poor attempts at jokes are painful to watch.

Like I wrote on Facebook if you want me to display humour, ask me something about John Simpson
Through that link, I explained that what I mean by believing myself to be able to make humorous statements about John Simpson is that I believe the random-nature of mentions of Simpson or Ben Scott within conversations between Lower Mound and I to be funny. We once even mentioned Scott in a McDonald's in Birmingham, and it doesn't get much more random that that! However, I acknowledge that most people don't find it funny that Simpson or Scott feature (for what some might say is for no reason) in many of my posts, so I suppose that I should stop doing it.
Contrary to popular belief, I don't like causing people offence and do not think that it is beyond the realms of possibility that Simpson can excel with the bat or gloves in future years.
Ped to Beefy.... Okay, okay you can have my shirt, just stop squeezing my hand it really hurts!!

Beefy: "Yeah, I know. There's too many Southerners in the Middlesex side"
Pedro to Beefy , " I know the bar is just behind us but I'm still not buying you a drink at 10:30 in the morning !!"
I devote a lot of hours to MTWD, often hours on end if I have returned from a well-deserved night's sleep, a day at college or a visit to my other sporting club, so to get the blame for everything that goes wrong on this site hurts me.
I know that I don't have a sense of humour, I know that I have nothing funny to say about the photo of Beefy and Pedro Collins, I know that I don't drink alcohol, I know that I don't have social skills, I know that I don't have the ability to back players born in the North-West of England, I know that I don't mind Mark Ramprakash as much as others do, I know that I am not totally happy with the way the club are being run and I know that there are plenty of other issues people have with me, but isn't it about time people focus on what I can do rather than what I can't do?
I have never claimed that this site would be quieter without me and I have never used my syndrome as an excuse for my actions, but maybe I will have to start doing so if that is what it takes to stop getting the blame for everything that goes wrong on this site.

I know that I don't have a sense of humour...
You do have a sense of humour, Jonathan, but it is very internalised or self-referential humour, which is often difficult for other people to appreciate.
If you try writing fewer posts and keeping your posts shorter, I'm sure many other people will appreciate your posts more.
And at least your humour is not malevolent towards other posters, JW.
When MTWD posters try to make themselves look clever or funny by baiting and/or bullying other members of the MTWD community, they make themselves look very unpleasant indeed (however nice they might be in real life). They often also find themselves on absolute final warnings.
