This was a fun read. I reckon Anthony would be a very interesting chap to share a pint or three with. Lion taming!

Reminds me of that Zimbabwean opening bat of yesteryear, Guy Whittle...off the field he was a wildlife tour guide! What a place to grow up!

Well done Kimmy.

Asking questions that wouldn't normally get asked in interviews always brings out good responses.

I hope this is the first of many.

Very entertaining reading this. It would be a good idea to do this with other players as well - say a different player each week.

I'm glad this has proven to be so popular and well done to Kimmy as was her initiative.

We have another interview completed that will be up at some stage. I think this maybe better for winter months to keep message board ticking over when things are quieter.

Any suggestions anyone??

Anthony Ireland said he supports Aston Villa, and he is clearly a bigger supporter than someone who just claims to support the club because of past glories or someoene who never attends matches. Proof of this is that he attended tonight's match v Arsenal, and submitted proof of that on Twitter.

Oh dear. Anthony Ireland's latest Tweet will offend a fair amount of Middlesex's supporters!

Hopefully 2012 will go well for him.

I too have a "family" connection to the Villa , the daughters boyfriend is a supporter (even though he's a scouser? explain that,I can't).

Now if the Welsh would like to be as generous as both the Villa and Norwich have been of late tomorrow I would be most pleased.

The reason why I dredged up this article and wrote about football, which are two things frowned upon, was in an effort to increase the post count on this site, as the volume of posts has been below-average over the last couple of weeks. I was in a win-win situation, as the only two possibilities which could result from this would be no reaction from posters - which would mean I would not receive any complaints - or it would increase the post count on this site.

Considering not many posts were made today, I can't believe that since my previous visit to MTWD a poll about celebrating the new year had been started and had drawn several posts. There seems to be a tendency that whenever I check on a regular basis for new posts, hardly any new posts are made, yet whenever I turn my attention to other activities, lots of posts are made.

Hopefully the majority of posts about Anthony Ireland in 2012 will be praising his performances.

Keep telling you JW,don't worry about the post count. As to the poll it's a bit of fun, takes about 20 mins to put one together,is usually topical and gets a fair response. Just not possible to put it up during the day while your checking our hit rates as typing and driving on the M11 are frowned upon by the old bill.

Here's to Ant and all the other lads having a great 2012.
