Beer is good for Sussex and the Middlesex 2

Highlight before game
By Hayling Panther and R&O out of desperation.
June 29 2014

R&O offered to provide a match report on same day our South Coast correspondent Hayling Panther agreed to Barmy Kev’s request for a report. So, on this occasion R&O’s offer was rejected then reinstated. We all know what happened with match and this report never going to be easy regardless. So here’s a summary from the Middlesex 2 who braved the elements.

Hayling Panther (the best reports can be described in one paragraph)

He starts off with an apology. Sorry my creative juices were somewhat uninspired by that performance.Hayling

Kev asked me to do a report as his south coast correspondent. I think it might be best just to endorse what R&O has said - excellent beer, nice ground, lively atmosphere. There were some positives - run-a-ball Ryan, Ravi's bowling, good fielding and particularly catching. It was so disappointing that I hadn't made a note of any train times back to Havant before 10! It will be interesting to hear from Richard Scott at the forum why he believes his senior players aren't delivering and precisely what he plans to do about it. Do we know what's happened to Stirlo by the way? Let's hope a trip to the Rose Bowl in a couple of weeks will be worthy of a few paragraphs...but the beer won't be as good!

Sorry Mr Hayling you are not fired yet, but The Rose Bowl (minus beer) report is covered.

Rogers & Out

Sorry. I can't offer much more

This starts off with text to a Moderator, I quote “Dexter just got out to a ball my mum would have hit for four. Barring brilliant bowling from us, another thumping beckons".   (This Moderator was at the Glous game previous day thinking the target set might still be beyond us) . This moderator asked if it is OK to put above quoute in report and R&O stated "in retrospect I was a bit harsh on Dext , but I was pretty annoyed at the time, but the Beer was good both on and off the field".  Whether next MTWD quote was from a consoling beer or on train journey R&O says "after three decent performances at this format, we reverted to type with an effort almost as poor as at Bristol and the Oval. Although Ryan Higgins, Ravi Patel and Ollie Rayner acquitted themselves with credit, it was another capitulation with even the Sussex fans wishing we'd made more runs and thus more of a game of it must say, however, despite our ineptitude, that Hove is a good place to watch T20 (as well as other formats) and the excellent ale available eased the pain".

So is it really worth putting this report up. Well at least with Beer and Hatchett taking 3 wickets each for Sussex we have excellent headline opportunities.

Thanks for the Middlesex 2. Sometimes words cannot describe how depressing watching Middlesex can be. I guess in true MTWD spirit you will be back for more?
