Middle Texts La La La

And why not?

Beefy sends texts to Barmy Kev in way of a match report of a bit of a farcical day.

I start off in Middlesex Room want to have word with someone about the exhibition being in pavilion, which is totally unacceptable, there has been far too many restrictions in our 150th year.

Early lunch covers on.

Constant drizzle one cover off.

Early tea at 15:10. Mr Perambulator announces this would be of 20 minute duration.

3 seagulls moved across ground in a northerly direction.

16:30 umpire check. Mr perambulator has just said 17:00 next umpire check to laughter in Middlesex Room.

It’s 17:00 covers getting removed……..Wait for it Mr Perambulator is waffling. We are off and running 1730 start 16 overs

Suddenly the ground comes to life.

Murts starts at Nursery end.

TRJ Pav maiden over. Moved a bit. 345-7 a wicket for TRJ as Clarke is caught behind for 94.

Crowd count of 44 in Middlesex Room.

Looked away as Murts takes a wicket. Its 380-8. Oatel Bowled Murts 8.

Oatel I mean Patel. 102.4 overs

362-8 off for bad light. Not much movement by ground staff. Umpires staying put in middle. Warwickshire have declared.

Umpires out in middle, Warwicks warming up. No sightings of Middx batsmen.

Groundstaff left, umpires left ground. A white coat in Pavtells us umpires called it off for day. Hovercraft takes its place as we say goodbye from Lords with middlesex 0-0 of 0 overs at close of play. 5.2 overs seen.
