"No Matter What They Tell Me", Middlesex are Sh
Better score now

Mrs Barmy takes over reporting duty from Barmy Kev as he can only find two words to describe our performance.
It was decided in March when Kev suggested going to a Boyzone concert and he mentioned something about a cricket match.
Due to a Friday night event in Hemel Hempstead, convenient for Kev, from Radeltt we travelled from there. We are at Hemel Hempstead Station at 10:40 Kev gets a text and reads out Middx 5 3 in 2nd over ducks for Robbo and Morgan. 20 mins later another text 22 5. Someone at ground texts him when we are at Euston don't bother coming. We are still on way, when a further text is read you may make it in time for sensational Hampshire collapse. The next text he read out was saying I'm playing on Monday for Morgan. I give up.
I hear lunch is 2:00-2:40, are they waiting for us to arrive? It was explained for Red Arrows show that couldn't be changed. At Hedge End station local taxi firm says there is an hour wait for taxis station to the ground so we walk 1 1/2 miles with our heavy cases. Kev mentions watch out for the dead cat. No idea what he is talking about.
We arrive at ground I have a cider and Kev wants water- very odd. Kev tells me 39 runs needed and no wickets down. What have the team been doing all morning? A bloke called Gubbins is fielding near us. I like his name and girls want photos with him and his autograph. Kev shouts "concentrate on game this distraction could cost us". He explained why a bowler is called Skippy. He then reminds me next week we will be in Lord's Pavilion for another game which left me thinking will it last as long.
The match is nearly over Kev shouts "come on Middle we can still win" and then says "at least can we have a wicket". I was not watching but gathered neither happened.
It was announced Boyzone gig was moved from 7pm to 5pm. We were allowed on pitch for this and was worried about damage to grass. The Boyzone lead singer explained he was from Ireland and knows nothing about cricket. From comments heard was wondering if this was the Middlesex captain?
They finished with song Life is a Roller Coaster. A bit like following Middlesex from what I gather.
Positives
I like the name Gubbins
The cider was good
I enjoyed Boyzone
Negatives
Kev for some reason in a bad mood on train journey going to ground
Middlesex were derisory. ( Can I use that word here?)
I am unavailable to play on Monday due to a work commitment. Sorry
