Now for the play off question.
Describe a Middlesex player past or present without actually directly using his name. This can be carried out with a picture or some cryptic clue. Answers by next Sunday to the same address. Barmy Kev and the Leprechaun will adjudicate on which one appeals to us the most bearing in mind we do have a sense of humour.

I would have entered, but was unsure of the deadline. My intention was to wait until as late as possible in case I felt the need to change my mind about an answer.
The only two I got incorrect was having Andrew Stoddart instead of Dirk Nannes, and Tom Helm instead of Tom Smith. I knew it was unlikely that Stoddart would be correct, but I had no idea of the correct answer, so decided that the lady with the umbrella was Julie Andrews as she played Mary Poppins, and that the knife was like a dart. Clearly, the lady is supposed to be identified as a nan, although I am sure it is also Mary Poppins.
I would not have won anyway.

The Invisible man would have been a better clue for Eoin Morgan.
I was one short of a full house as I have no idea what a sim card looks like.
I suppose we should all be grateful Ricardo Elcock wasn't one of the answers.

Didn't get nos 9 or 13 and got the wrong answer for 18 anyway , Angus Fraser (county where mountain is and the kilt tartan) is not Ben Scott.

13. As for 13 I couldn't find any reference to Chinchilla Ring of Fire having played for Middlesex.
Aware there were some full houses (and a pending tie break) I didn't put an entry in but a really fun quiz to do and thanks to those who must have taken hours coming up with it.

I was stuck on 13 for some time until I realised that the marsupial actually was a baby kangaroo and it was indeed surrounded by a Ring of Fire. Which coincidentally was one of the few songs I first got to know via a cover version (Eric Burden) and only discovered the very different original later. Joe Cocker's deBeatlised first big hit is another one!
My favourite was the clue for Dirk Nannes, I think. Mary Poppins was of course the most famous of fictional nannies, JW, rather than a nan.

Thanks for all play off entries which ranged from obscure to even obscurer.
The winner in eyes of both moderators is Darren Gosling for his Tyrone Henderson- combining the Thai flag round Ronnie Corbert followed by a Hen party pic with someone called Der and a son. This was one of the less obscure entries. A miniscule prize will be on its way.
