Thanks to Beefy for this multil lingal report of our succesful trip across the Border. I know Croeso means welcome but have no idea of the rest of the hedline or the first paragraph. Answers on a postcard please. But get past that and we have a grand report on behalf of the intrepid Middlesex 6 plus the Glamorgan 2. Hope you all made it home safe.
roeso i Gaerdydd dros Forgannwg v Middlesex,50 dros un gem dydd.
Bydd y tim yn tethio i Gaerdydd ar gyfer y nesaf 50 dros gem ar ol gorchfygiad yn Hove.

There are horrible grey skies for my early departure to meet up with the Other 5 hardy Middlesex in Cardiff,but my train makes good times and i arrive in time,to a DRY Cardiff!
Bag dropped in hotel, I join up to make the Middlesex 6,with lunch taken,and a couple of pints...Roy drinking a beer called 'Oval Six',he said it was very nice with a hint of Tequila in taste. Phil and Paul head into the ground,soon we get a text saying there is an inspection at 14.30,first report was there was damp on bowlers run up,this was soon cleared up as next text said play will start at 1415.
A very green wicket,Glamorgan are in their striking Bumble Bee coloured kit, we are batting,and its a batting display of two halves really as McCullum and Malan opened and soon cheers from the home members as Brendon is c&b by Hogan, but soon discover it was a no-ball.We reach 50 off 8.4 overs and Wagg is bowling to BM who plays a Dilshan scoop for 4 runs,Meschede is bowling to BM and we are 90-0 of 17 overs; two years ago we were 90-8!
Meschede to BM who has a catch spilt by Wagg and next ball reaches a much deserved 50...47 balls with 5 x 4 and 1 x 6.
Watching BM in this form is entertaining to say the least,with Malan also involved in the blistering opening partnership. On 134 Malan reaches his 50 as well, the scoreboard gets to 150-0 with Malan confusing the fielders by trying a reserve sweep but plays an edge for 4 runs.
On 176 the first of a cluster of wickets fell, With Malan going on 70 c Cook b Hogan; a thin edge. An opening partnership of 176 in 26.2 overs.
186-1, BM reaches a most deserved ton,off 78 balls,11x4 and 4x6.
One becomes two,as, on 201 BM is caught at long off for 110, all got in 85 balls,with 11x4 and 5x6
The talk of maybe 350 was soon curtailed as wickets fell at far to regular intervals; 214-3 as Stirling is c Lloyd b Ingram for 17 at short mid-wicket.
217-4 Gubbins is c Hogan b Meschede 2 caught at mid-on.
223-5 Morgan has gone now c Salter b Ingram caught at deep square leg, 4 wickets going for 22 runs in 7.1 overs. We have made 47 runs for loss of 5 wickets.
There was 16 overs bowled between boundaries.
236-5 as Simmo was next out,caught and bowled by Wagg, Franklin was bowled around his legs trying a Dilshan scoop. We have TRJ and Ollie to thank for the score we reached,Toby getting our next boundary and then dropped by Donald on the cover boundary,Toby hit Wagg for 4 after being dropped before Oliie sent a straight 6 off same bowler,with the last pair making a partnership of 46 runs in 4.2 overs.
30 mins interval,some went to the Black Pig for a pint,others did the usual ground circuit,all convening for the Glamorgan Innings.
The home side made a good start with Rudolph and Lloyd making a stand of 65 in 11.4 overs, with Lloyd the first to go for 41 when he hooked Fuller to fine leg for Stirlo to take the catch. O ur fielding was quick,lots of chatter from the players,especially from Gubbo, and the ball being moved rapidly...was it to keep warm,as the wind was, well,it was bloody cold!
One of the 6 mentioned that The Rabbit had came on the field,and TCP was missing.
Franco bowls to Bragg, and a loud LBW appeal follows,the umpire unmoved as Franco takes the double teapot pose and gives the umpire a long stare.
Rudolph looked like he as back to form,but went for 45 with an edge from Franco for Simmo to take; Bagg soon followed in the same fashion. Did I say it was cold there?
Donald was next to go,again the Franco/Simmo partnership clicked. Ingram was the one we needed as he was in good form,he reached his 50 in 47 balls,and we are all of a sudden checking D/L and the run comparisons.
Glammy needed 87 from the last 10 overs,we introduce our secret weapon; up steps Mala and he was launched for 6 over mid wicket by Cooke,two balls later though,Cooke skied a ball to TRJ at Long-on and is caught; Cooke is out for a run a ball 41.
Wagg was next,he was soon returning as Murts sends his stumps scattering for just less than 1; Meschede is in and out next, as Mala strikes again,same as before,a shot to TRJ who takes a wonderful forward diving catch at long on. We applaude Toby on his return,'great catch' was called to him,he does a small 'thanks wave'.
As another Glammy wicket goes,and victory looks to be ours,the locals start to head home.
Finally,we can relax as Cosker is bowled by Toby and Salter has gone; by Fuller.
A 28 run win for the Middle.
It was a cold,dry day,and worth the journey for the victory.

thanks for sharing Beefy. This reliving my Kevin H commentary except he was talking about 400+ and I guess I was warmer.
I'm relieved to hear there were no incidents of local police having to use tear gas on you.
I hope the Welsh bit doesn't involve words that may get site closed down

As I was staying just outside charming Port Talbot I did think about going but the weather looked awful and I was expecting it to be rain-curtailed.
Odd match, viewed form afar. 176 at best part of seven an over first time I looked. Then one of our famous chucking away an outstanding start efforts, I thought, with TRJ and Ollie eventually putting it a bit right. But I thought it would not be enough, and definitely not enough as D/L came in (at the time it was chucking it down near Bridgend). 40 off 5, I think the start was, confirming my impression. But next time round 100-1 off 20, so more finely balanced but still in Glammy's favour. Next peek - hey, we won!

I must admit,the longest part of the report took just over 90 mins....and that was doing the headline and first paragraph or two in Welsh,there is nothing un towards in this,but thought something totally different!
And, I did remove some parts that didn't fit in.

I too was caught out by the 'Inspection at 2.30, so didn't tune in to Online commentary until 2.45, only to discover match had started at 2.15 (since when has a match ever started before an official inspection?)
Re first paragraph- I'm guessing dros means overs, although it might mean Dernbach, but I can't work out why a match would be 50 Dernbach's a side.

Well done Mr D,not far off it in translation!
