Chesham Steve gives a brief report on 1st day of pre season with unseasonal sunshine at MTS but usual Middx batting struggle.
And a very pleasant day it was. The sound of bat and ball and Middlesex wickets falling. Left at tea 132-8.
No standout performance. Eski struggled. Half the time I didn't know who was batting with no scorecard. T shirt weather. My fleece stayed in the bag, and using sun cream in March. Roll on April 7th.

Thanks mate. 192 for 16 at the end. Not so warm today. Breeze. 100 odd for 4 when I left. Saw Max Harris pretty lively with the ball.

Saw the coaches interview. Said he asked to bat first on a crazy green pitch made to order to replicate early season... Was chuffed they lasted 60 odd overs. Feels a weird one to me. Getting skittled to be nearly all out twice in a day can't feel like it's really setting you up for a season of dogged resistance
