Middlesex today announced their overseas signings for the 2004 season. As predicted by yours truly, Nantie Hayward signs on a one year deal, whilst Lance Klusner joins on a three month contract. The news is a big boost for Middx, following the calapse of deals with Anil Kumble and Ashley Noffke.

PRESS RELEASE - 18th February 2004 - Middlesex sign two overseas players

Middlesex County Cricket Club are delighted to announce their overseas signings of Nantie Hayward and Lance Klusener, for the 2004 season. Nantie is one of the most exciting and fastest bowlers in world cricket and is particularly looking forward to playing for the club.

Nantie said, "I am very excited at the prospect of playing for Middlesex. I am keen to repay the faith they have shown in me and Lord's is a fantastic place to play. I can't wait for the season to start and I am especially looking forward to the games against Worcester."

Lance Klusener will be joining Middlesex immediately following South Africa's domestic Twenty20 competition. He should be with the club by the 2nd May and will be available until the end of July. He is currently in New Zealand with the South African squad.

John Emburey said, "We have obtained two proven world class performers and they will both be significant additions to our already talented squad."
