With a draw being likely, Middlesex batted through the day and gained Maximum Batting points. However, it wasn’t easy going as Middlesex from 289-4 to 336-8, but a stand of 63 between Simon Cook and David Nash took the total to 399 and then last man Phil Tufnell secured the points with a four.

There were contributions all throughout the innings from Middlesex Sven Koenig progressing from his overnight 65 to reach 86, Ed Joyce scoring 73 and David Nash hitting an unbeaten 44.
