Middlesex get vital draw

Middlesex and Essex drew at Southgate in a match that always looked like ending with honnors even. Middlesex continued there form from the first innings, declaring for 426/4. Shah unbeaten on 148. Razzaq got an early wicket but the neither side had the ablility to do the impossible and win.
