How are things going down under?

Over the last couple of mounts Alec Stewert, Mark Butcher and Alex Tudor (in the last test) have been in Australia playing for the Ashes with England. Meanwhile Adam Hollioake has been given a place in the provisional world cup side after a great season for Surrey.

So how have the Surrey players been doing for England down under? Mark Butcher has scored 277 runs with an average of 25 and a highest score of 15. Alec Stewart has scored 244 runs with an average of 34 and a highest score of 66. Alex Tudor has just played the one test and has taken two wickets.

While England were playing in the Ashes the world cups squad was announced. After a great season with both bat and ball Adam Hollioake was named in the provisional squad of 30 for the world cup next year. But there was no place for youngster Rikki Clarke who has just signed a new 5-year contract at Surrey after he burst on to the scene last year.
