Surrey made 337 all out in their first innings with John Batty carrying his bat through the innings with 154 not out. Lancashire then replied with 341 all out with Carl Hooper making 114. Surrey then lost both openers cheaply with Batty failing to score this time around. Graham Thorpe made 38 and Ali Brown hit 61. But Gary Keedy ripped through the Surrey middle order with four wickets. Surrey are just 133 runs ahead with just two second innings wickets remaining.
