Surrey beat Kent yesterday at the AMP Oval

Surrey won there first Benson and Hedges cup match of the season by beating Kent by 44 runs at the AMP Oval yesterday. Ali Brown top scored for Surrey with 73 while Phil Sampson took 3 wickets.

Surrey won there first Benson and Hedges cup match of the season yesterday when they beat Kent at the AMP Oval by 44 runs.
Surrey started badly loosing Alec Stewart Mark Ramprakash early on. But a stand of 93 between Ali Brown(73)and Graham Thorpe(61)put Surrey in to the driving seat. Surrey were then bowled out for 257 with Ian Ward (21) and Azhar Mahmood (25) making useful contributions late in the innings.
Surrey then started well with James Ormond and Alex Tudor taking early wickets. Then Phil Sampson took 3 wickets to put Surrey in the on top. James Ormond and Alex Tudor both took 2 wickets to wrap up a 44 run win for Surrey leaving Kent all out for 213 with Robert Key top scoring with 59.
