Lions win in final game

Surrey maintained their unbeaten run in the twenty20 cup as they beat London rivals Middlesex in their final group game of the competition. Nayan Doshi took 3 wickets and Adam Hollioake made 66 as the lions completed an easy 37 run victory.
Middlesex won the toss and decided to bowl. Surrey openers Ali Brown and James Benning made a solid start by putting on 30, but when on 13 Brown fell to Simon Cook. Benning fell shortly after for 30 and Nadeem Shahid followed him back to the pavilion for just a single. This left the lions struggling at 68 for 3. However a solid 38 from Ramprakash and 65 not out from Adam Hollioake in just 41 balls lifted Surrey to a respectable total of 183 for 6 from their 20 overs.
Middlesex openers Paul Weeks and Andy Strauss made a good start by putting on 39 but when on 11 Strauss fell to Phil Sampson. Shah and Weeks then took the score to 64 but Nayan Doshi took two quick wickets to leave the crusaders struggling at 64 for 3. Middlesex could not recover from this position and lost wickets at regular intervals. Lance Klusenar was the only highlight of the Middlesex innings as he made a quick fire innings of 53 from 32 balls as the crusaders made 146 for 7 from their 20, this left them with a defeat of 37 runs. Nayan Doshi took 3 for 26 and Adam Hollioake continued his suburb form with 2 wickets.
