Hodd re joins Sussex

Andy Hodd has decided to re join Sussex after two seasons with Surrey. Surrey signed Hodd in 2004 but after failing to displace John Batty in the first team, he has re joined his former team.

Hodd, who was recently interviewed for this website, was the leading runs scorer for Surry in second eleven Cricket last season as he scored 737 runs at an average of 43.35 in 13 games. He hit five fifties and one century. Behind the stumps he claimed 32 catches and two stumpings.

Hodd will now be the deputy to Matt Prior after Tim Ambrose left Sussex to join Warwickshire. This move could mean Hodd plays more first class Cricket as Prior could be on England duty depending on his progress over the winter in Pakistan.
