Benning fires in defeat

James Benning hit 120 from 153 balls, but it was not enough as Surrey were defeated by Sussex at Hove in a pre season friendly.

Surrey made 211 for 9, from their 50 overs, with newly appointed vice caption Rikke Clarke impressing with 43. However the rest of the batsman struggled to make an impact in the slow conditions.

Sussex openers Richard Montgomerie and Carl Hopkinson hit an opening stand of 185 to win the game for Sussex.
