Surrey dominate again

Surrey are in control after day two of their county championship match against Worcestershire at the Brit Oval. Mark Ramprakash hit his third century of the season and Mark Butcher scored 74 as Surrey pilled up 501 for 7 declared in their first innings.
Day One
The Surrey openers dominated the day where only 38.4 overs were possible because of rain. Surrey reached 126 for no wicket with Newman 65 not out and Batty unbeaten on 44.
Day Two
Newman could only add nine to his overnight score as he fell to former Surrey paceman Zaheer Kahn with the score on 144. Batty and Ramprakash added 57 for the second wicket. Batty was dismissed by former Surrey off-spinner Gareth Batty for a patient innings of 69 from 194 balls. Ramprakash and Butcher then took the game away from Worcestershire with a massive stand of 156. Ramprakash scored his third century of the season with 118. Butcher was next to depart for 74 as he was caught by Hick with Price taking the wicket. Brown fell cheaply as Surrey looked to push on the runs, but Clarke and Benning hit back with a stand of 75 in quick time. Clarke made 38 from 51, while Benning continued his good form with 52 from 54 balls. Surrey finally declared on 501 for 7.
Worcestershire then started their innings, but Surrey were unable to make any inroads as they reached 55 for no wicket from 16 overs.
