Another Awful Limited-Overs Reverse

After terrorising Somerset with bat and ball in the rain-interrupted County Championship encounter, Yorkshire's one-day team went back into their shell and allowed the visitors to leave Leeds with a comprehensive triumph.
Clearly Yorkshire are a schizophrenic bunch at present: confident in the County Championship and clueless in the forty overs' competition. It is stating the obvious, but still worth repeating that our buffet bowling (enabling our opponents to help themselves) has for the second successive week left our batsmen with a mountain to climb. Regrettably when you gift Somerset almost 350 runs in a mere forty overs, you're left with the cricketing equivalent of climbing Mount Everest blindfolded. Here was another occasion where 'winning' the toss proved to be of no discernible advantage. Kudos at least can be allocated to Gary Ballance's innings which reduced the humiliation. However, back-to-back defeats at the hands of Glamorgan and Somerset are cause for concern. The Tykes need to bat first and/or bowl with a sufficient control to restrict our opponents from running riot. Otherwise, more limited-overs setbacks lie ahead in the near future.
