Batting Collapse Marks Miserable Performance
Durham's Mustard

July 2 2014
Aaron Finch flopped again while Andrew Gale's dire one-day form returned as Yorkshire contrived to lose a Twenty20 match that they should have won comfortably. After all, our spin twins of Rafiq and Rashid had helped to restrict Durham Jets to 123, only for our batsmen to shoot themselves in the foot with an abject display.
Yet it all seemed so straightforward when Finch and Lees batted the hosts to the strong position of forty-seven for one. Regrettably Lyth was cheaply dismissed again, and although the Vikings can bat all the way down to number eleven, nobody was able to provide the platform for a successful run chase. In fact, only Finch, Lees, and Pyrah reached double figures, with nobody even recording a total of twenty runs. Furthermore three run outs also contributed to the farce. Credit must go to dastardly Durham for plucking victory from a likely defeat. However, one hopes that Jason Gillespie will have some choice words to say about the home team's inept capitulation. Only a huge improvement and win against Worcestershire on Friday can wipe away this bitterly disappointing setback.
