Rain Reigns Supreme

For the third time in their erratic Twenty20 campaign, Yorkshire's hopes have been stifled by unwelcome precipitation which rendered their proposed encounter at group leaders Worcestershire as obsolete. Only Northamptonshire have had as many fixtures ruined by wet weather, having to also settle for a share of the points on three occasions.
As a consequence, the Vikings' Twenty20 ambitions remain on a knife edge. The Tykes are still clinging on to a fourth place, qualifying position, but the likes of Durham and Northamptonshire and Warwickshire are all breathing down their northern necks. With six matches remaining, the Vikings will need to win four contests, or lose no more than two, if they wish to progress to the last eight. The white rose protagonists have the fifth best strike rate in their group, so they have much work to do to improve that vital statistic too. Now they must ready themselves for the imminent challenge of dastardly Durham in the four-day game, starting on Monday the seventh.
