Another Limited Overs Setback
By Gary Watton
June 3 2016
For the second time running, Yorkshire Phoenix (or Yorkshire pillocks more like) managed to win the toss, but again I'm afraid that is all that they could achieve. Admittedly in their second Twenty20 outing, they improved their batting considerably after their weak first showing, but still they were undone by poor bowling once more. Young Rhodes and Wainman between them conceded forty-six runs from four costly overs. However, Yorkshire will insist on blooding new young players in this competition, so therefore such an outcome is probably only to be expected. It was a shame for Liam Plunkett who blasted 34 off ten balls and diidn't deserve to be on the losing team. Now a pointless Phoenix must try once more to rise from the ashes when it does battle next against formidable Lancashire Lightning on Friday evening.
