Duckworth-Lewis Secures Victory

Yorkshire Phoenix finally secured their first Twenty20 win of 2016, with the assistance of that lethal duo of Duckworth and Lewis. Admittedly the Tykes had a modest total to pursue, and one would like to think that were it not for the unwelcome intervention of the rain, then the hosts would still have reached their target. Originally the white rose won the toss for the umpteenth time in recent weeks, and each bowler gave a good account of himself - not least the rookie Carver and fellow slow bowler Azeem Rafiq who has been recalled to the ranks of Yorkshire CCC. It is going to be mighty difficult for the Phoenix to qualify for the last eight, but they can restore pride and get some wins under their belt, and who knows where it all might lead?
