Glamorgan Trounced!

Who said that a depleted Yorkshire would struggle with so few recognised batsmen available? In the event, David Willey stepped up to the plate and blitzed the hapless hosts, as only he can. Dynamic Dave was ably assisted by his captain who gave a good account of himself, after having managed to win the toss and declare the inevitable: that his team would bat first. Of course after Willey's departure at 134 for three, the Vikings' innings petered out amidst a regular fall of wickets. It just took one more individual to hang around and biff us over the two hundred threshold, but alas it wasn't to be. However, 180 proved to be a more than adequate target, which I am sure we would have settled for at the start of proceedings.

Ultimately, 180 proved ninety runs too hot for an off-colour Glamorgan team that simply wasn't at the races once Brezza had taken his second wicket, with only 21 runs to show for their efforts. Thereafter the home team produced little resistance, as the Vikings just laid this part of south Wales waste! Adil Rashid characteristically ripped through the tail and young Matt Waite had an all-round cameo to remember. The victors now join the other three northern qualifiers in a clean sweep of the semi finals line up. Who would bet against the Vikings finally conquering this hitherto elusive prize?
