Friday The Thirteenth Triumph!
By Gary Watton
July 13 2018
Hot and cold Yorkshire, the Jekyll and Hyde of English limited overs cricket, proceeded to set another slightly underwhelming target, only made possible by a fifty-run stand between young Tattersall and the less young Bresnan. It seemed during the first half of the run chase that the hosts would breeze to a comfortable triumph, but a steady trickle of wickets in the latter half of their innings left Durham requiring fifteen runs off the last over, bowled by big Tim. In the event, Durham succeeded in losing a match that they looked likely to win, while Yorkshire recorded a rare double over their northern neighbour. Can the Vikings now string a few wins together? That's the challenge.
