Gavin Hamilton is looking forward to his return to international action with Scotland when the ICC Intercontinental cup resumes in the United Arab Emirates next week. Hamilton will be part of the Scotland squad that makes the trip to the UAE for the semi final against Kenya on the 16th November.

Hamilton spent much of the season out with a thumb injury but did manage to return for the last few matches of the season. He claims to be at 70% of his best with the ball but feels that his batting has improved significantly from having to justify his place purely on his run scoring ability.

Scotland will be without all-rounder Dougie Brown but Hamilton believes that Scotland have what it takes to beat Kenya and go on to win the cup.

The match against Kenya will be a three day game, the first that Hamilton has played for Scotland since he was 17. Hamilton sees this as a test of batting technique for the team, especially if called on to chase a total on a wearing pitch on the final day.

A win against Kenya will see Scotland move into the final against either UAE or Canada.
