May 20 2003

This season, for the first time ever, the denizens of this site have chosen a player of the season. On this occasion it is the same as the LISC player of the season, in the years to come it may differ, only time will tell.

Michael

Craic Player of the Season

The voting in our Player of the Season poll was as follows.....

Craic Player of the Season?
Big Bob 25%
Naka 39%
Orac 15%
O'Sackey 21%
Number of votes: 97

Those of you who have read the Player Profiles or who have been following our 2002/3 Results and Reports will be familiar with Old Man River's profile of Naka.

Naka ‘Nurse’ Drotske (Hooker)

The 1997 All-South Africa Ukelele and Banjo champion, Naka likes nothing better than entertaining the team on their way back from matches with his startling rendition of the George Formby classic "Win arm clinning windars". Nurse’s role as ‘throwing coach’ for fellow hookers Steve Thompson, Will Greening and Keith Wood has already started to pay big dividends for London Irish.

Given this award it is perhaps surprising that during the season Naka has only once been voted Craic MOTM for our home game against  Wasps back in April. Topping in this area with four nominations each were Fred Gustard, Michael Horak and Paul O'Sackey.

Player Statistics have still to be completed for this season however Naka's stats are...

All Games: App26: T 2: Pts10

ZP Games: App17: T 1: Pts 5

LI Career: App 57: T30: Pts 15

Congratulations Naka from all of us, you are a star.
