Diving straight into Q2, could we be looking at a Mappa Mundi?

The most famous for most Brits is the one held in Hereford Cathedral. It fits the bill of a medieval vellum; Jerusalem is reckoned, at this time, to be the centre of the world. The Here part of Hereford means army (Anglo Saxon) and a ford is a river crossing

Q2 is nothing to do with the Three Choirs is it?

You'll need to solve all the clues - Richard is correct.

Moving to the third part, I am only right if the setter has made a mistake.

My answer is Worcester.

The headless king would be Charles I but the temporary home of an oak tree (and hence the Royal Oak) was for the subsequent Charles II following the battle of Worcester.

Worcester is the name of the company founded by Cecil Duckworth - it specialises in combination boilers. The hexagonal junction is, I suspect, a reference to Sixways the home of Worcester Warriors (Chairman: C Duckworth)

Chris G Got it right. 4 Points jumped the answers to qustion 2

Richard gets 4 points also for 1 and 3 but getting the Oak tree and Worcester mixed up cost him the rest

Bleach gets the remains (see what I did there?) for getting the word "Nachlass" on the board for the first time, and providing a Kant connection, who together with Wittgenstein, provides a nice lead into a future question which will revolve around "">The Philosophers song"
