On 12th August last the monthly meeting of the Management Committee was held at the Lion Hotel, Worksop commemorating the holding of the inaugural meeting of the League at that venue on 12 th August 1903.

The Annual General Meeting of the Bassetlaw Cricket League took place at the Valley Comprehensive School on Baulk Lane Worksop and proceedings were opened by Mr. J. B. Wilson (President).

2004 Premier League fixtures released
The fixture list for the 2004 Premier League has been released with the season starting on Saturday 24th April and finishing on Saturday 11th September. As usual, there is a double header weekender over the Spring Bank Holiday with games taking place on the Saturday and the Monday.

Bassetlaw and District Umpires Association AGM
The A.G.M. of the Bassetlaw and District Umpires Association was held at Worksop on Saturday and opened on a sad note when acting Chairman Mr. Alan Bennett asked for a minutes silence for members Bernard Gibbons and Steven Corbridge who had passed away over the last twelve months.

Welbeck cruise to Chad Cup triumph
Welbeck strolled to victory in the final of the Chad Cup played at Mansfield Hosiery Mills ground on Sunday (21st). In the 30 overs a side game, Welbeck were comfortable six wicket winners.

'Toilets' flushed by rampant Retford
The self-acclaimed 'doddering old toilets' of Calverton were well and truly flushed out at Eastwood by a rampant Retford. The mighty Calvo, champions of the South Notts League, were clinically beaten by eight wickets as the Bassetlaw champions strolled to victory in the Champion of Champions.

Champion of Champions Final - match preview
Eastwood Town CC is the venue for this season's Champion of Champions match which is an annual fixture between the title holders of the Bassetlaw Cricket League and their South Nottinghamshire counterparts. This year's match will take place this Saturday 20th September and will commence at 12.30pm.

No Butts this time - it's Cutthorpe
Bitterly disappointed with only finishing fourth in Division 1, Cutthorpe took out all their frustrations on Thoresby Colliery and lifted the Tomlin Trophy for the very first time at Central Avenue, Worksop on Sunday.

Unbeaten Retford are real champions
After completing the winning of the championship last week, Retford had only one goal left to them and that was to see if they could go through the whole season without losing a match.

Bolsover take Mallen Trophy
In a rather one sided final at Kiveton Park, Bolsover easily beat North Wheatley by 9 wickets with plenty of time to spare. The match was expected to be a tight one with both sides from Division 1 but with North Wheatley suffering relegation the previous day their disappointment was still showing.
